Is Eating meat justifiable? Because pain maybe universal? I believe not.
I agree; it is possible that plants "may" feel pain when we harm them.
Maybe it is our notions of pain and harm that allow for such a justification to eat meat?
We are overwhelmed by news, media, and information that heighten our senses of fear. It is only reasonable that we project some of our fear.
When I reflect on my core values, I find it wonderful how everything becomes clear in a way I never would have imagined many years ago.
My strongest value is kindness, and I would anticipate that everyone feels kindness is a good thing even though it may not be at the top of your list. Just for a few minutes, hold kindness as a value close to you.
It is true we need to kill animals to feed from their flesh; it takes the nutrients and heart of everything that creature has—that life.
It takes the whole life away just for the fleeting pleasure of our taste buds. Children die, mothers and fathers perish, and anyone still alive loses their family.
When we eat plants, we don't need to take a life.
In fact, harvesting the fruits, vegetables, and leaves from plants actually stimulates them to grow more and produce more life.
So out of these two options, would you rather kill or promote life? And what values are you using to make your choice?
