the key is to gently cook the tofu edge by edge slowly crisping each side a little more each time. This keeps the silken tofu centre soften and velvety.
Silken tofu lightly sprinkled with sesame seed powder and lightly fried. Add condiments to bolster taste a spicy green chilli sauce works great. Asparagus can be steamed or charred.

Bow Tie Pasta - Delicious simple and QuickGrab some bow tie pasta, Heat the pot of hot water, add a smigde of olive oil and a dash of salt, when the water boils add the pasta. Let the heat rise til the water is boiling and then lower to just above a simmer and cook for 12-15 mins. taste test for the perfect texture you like. While thats boiling grab 1 or two handfulls of baby tomatoes, and cut them in half, in a shallow frypan, add a dash of extra virgen olive oil, 1-2 cloves f crused garlic, and a bunch of fresh basil and thyme leaves. Saute all this on med to low heat until the tomatoes soften. You could also add some fresh baby spinach here. When the pasta is done dont drain it but use tongs to move the pasta out of the water and into the pan with tomatoes. Mix it all through, add salt and pepper to taste. Serve with a vegan Barossa Shiraz. Enjoy. ps works well with all kinds of pasta, We love seashells, boe ties and spaghetti. Done right a meal in itself. Cut in half, dusted with salt and garlic flakes, and sprinkled with thyme and rosemary. Servied with a side of Italian parsley and a generous drizzle of extra virgon olive oil. Curry leaves, peanut sauce adn cumin form the based to this coconut milk curry. Awesome with a barossa red. Topping with Mash potato, the rich sauce contents of this lasagne made it disappear way faster than it took to cook.
Layers of fresh lasgane pasta. Between each sheet of pasta a thick cream tomato based veggie deliciousness. The herbs? Thyme, basil, oregano, black pepper, paprika, rosemary. the veggies? Carrots, peas, roasted brussel sprouts, beets, roasted red capsicum and roasted cauliflower. It tasted way better than it looks here. Crusty topped mash and deliciously smooth pasta coated in a luscious sauce mixed with a bevvy or sauted and roasted veggies. Oh yeh garlic too. lol. Cake always brings out the rascals.
This divine choc mud cake is simpe to make, moist rich and delish with Coconut vegan ice cream, our fav is Plantitude. Butter Chicken curry without the chicken.
Base is onion caramelised, chick peas, coconut cream and boiled potatoes. Boil the potatoes first then add to the curry. Garnish with fried garlic and some garden green leaves (basil used below). get sesame topped bun from yur local baker, or if u can be bothered bake themn yourself. We bought ours.
Into the oven go the buns for 5-15 mins depending on your preferred crunch level. once done open the burger bun, add smashed avo, lettuce and if u like a dill pickle or gerhkin. Crunchy and satisfying simplicity. A fav of my youngest daughter, Simple and so good.
The secret? Pan fried crunchy sourdough with extra virgin olive oil. Its a birthday treat. If you know me well you have seen this dish of of my all time favs.

When noodle soup is no longer enough, simple add a spicy Kimchi dumpling.
Home made of course. Perfect as i sit down for the 1st test at the MCG. Here we saute some mushrooms, with an extra virgin olive oil, crushed garlic, and finely diced parlsey.
To the saute, we add spaghetti which is drained first and then folded into the mushroom mix. Add salt, pepper and italian parsely to garnish. It was so delcious we forgot to photo the innards.
simple to make in a pan add a little water tablespoon, add in cut pear apple and a fe blue berries, on slow heat wait until the fruit is soft and glazed. add a little maple syrup for sweetness and finish if u like. Add this mixture to a small oven dish, top with granola, preheat oven 180 C and cook until the top is golden and crusty, 5-10 mins depending on your oven. Serve with vegan ice cream or vegan yoghurt of your choice. Is that enough of a mouth full.
Think added garlic, ginger and chilli these are our standards. yet instead of sesame oil here we used aniseed to flavour the soup and WOW it packs a flavour punch, just two seeds as enough to make the black bean ROCK. Toasty wholemeal bun, Flat falafel garnished with a spicy dill pickle, ice berg lettuce, beetroot and chick pea/ginger hummus as the smooth delicious binder.
Start by slicing and dicing garlic. then in a pan with some rixe bran oil, fry the garlic.
Bring it to a crisp as soon as it starts to golden take it off the heat and remove from the oil. Set the garlic aside. With the oil in the pan, add this to a pot and fill with some hot water, add soy and and a small drizzle of sesame oil. Bring the soy soup to a gnetle simmer and add the Chinese Broccoli. I usually add the stems first as they take longer to cook 3-4 mins, then add the leaf when soft - its done. Grab a bown plate up, drizzle some soy over the broccoli, garnish with fresh chilli and the crispy garlic. Salt and pepper as you wish. YUM! |
